Joy is a junior artist at Wyld Chyld Merrick with two years of tattooing experience and a passion for creating work that’s both visually striking and deeply personal. Trained under Bill through an in-studio apprenticeship, Joy made her pivotal leap as an artist when she transitioned from practice mediums to real skin—bringing her designs to life in a way that connects meaning to artistry.

Specializing in calligraphy, typography, and floral designs, Joy has a talent for blending styles—mixing realism with traditional elements, or incorporating shading, stippling, and color to make each piece truly one-of-a-kind. She especially loves typography for its ability to tell a story through form and design.

Her approach with clients is rooted in understanding the meaning behind their tattoos, ensuring every design feels personal and intentional. In the studio, Joy is open-minded, always learning, and committed to helping clients leave with pride in their new art.

Outside of tattooing, Joy’s creativity extends to custom sugar cookie decorating, crafting, and horseback riding—and, surprisingly, she’s also an EMT. She’s especially excited to take on more realism pieces and Chicano-style lettering.
